C. Dean Maglaris, Chairman of the Board, AmeriCares Foundation C.E.O. of Cytogel Pharma, LLC
Mr. Maglaris joined the AmeriCares board in 2004 was elected Chairman in 2011. He is the CEO of Cytogel Pharma, LLC, a bio-pharmaceutical development company. He retired from Pfizer Inc. after 33 years where he held executive leadership positions in marketing and general management. He has also worked as a health care consultant, advising companies on business development, strategic planning, marketing and management. Mr. Maglaris is a past trustee of the New Canaan Country School and past Chairman of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees. He has a B.S. from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.

Alma Jane (Leila) Macauley, Co-founder and Vice Chairman, AmeriCares Foundation
Mrs. Macauley is the Co-founder and Vice Chairman of AmeriCares. She is Executive Director of Friends of Children, a nonprofit foundation promoting the well-being of orphaned, abandoned, sick and injured children around the world, and a founding director of Covenant House in Florida and Good Counsel in New York and New Jersey. Mrs. Macauley received her M.A. from the University of Miami in Guidance and Counseling.

Curtis R. Welling, President and Chief Executive Officer, AmeriCares Foundation
Curt Welling joined AmeriCares as President and CEO in 2002. Since that time, he has guided the organization in delivering more than $8 billion in medical aid and disaster relief around the world, enabling millions of people to live longer, healthier lives. Welling joined AmeriCares after an extensive career in the investment banking and securities industry with firms such as Societe Generale, Bear Stearns and Credit Suisse First Boston. He currently serves on the boards of Coca-Cola Enterprises (NYSE: CCE) and is the Chairman of the Board of Visitors of The Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a director emeritus of the Adirondack Council. He is the former board chair at Spence Chapin Services, and the Donaldson Adoption Institute. He received both his Master of Business Administration and undergraduate degrees from Dartmouth College and his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.

Elizabeth Peale Allen, Chairman of the Board, Guideposts
Ms. Allen joined the AmeriCares board in 2010. She is Chairman of the Board of the publishing and inspirational ministry Guideposts. She also serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Trinity Pawling School and is a member of the Hudson Valley advisory council for M&T Bank. She is also active on many civic and community affairs boards. Ms. Allen graduated from Mount Holyoke College.

Carol B. Bauer, Former Chairman, Norwalk Hospital Board of Trustees
Ms. Bauer joined the AmeriCares board in 2002. She currently serves as a chaplain at Norwalk Hospital, where she served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2001. She previously taught physically and mentally handicapped children and has lectured in French history. Ms. Bauer has also served on the boards of The United Way, the American Heart Association, the Honey Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Connecticut and the Green Lake Conference Center in Wisconsin. Ms. Bauer received a B.A. from Harris Teachers College and attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Elizabeth Furst Frank, Executive Vice President and Chief Programming Officer, AMC Theatres
Ms. Frank returned to the AmeriCares board in 2012. She is Executive Vice President and Chief Programming Officer for AMC Theatres. She previously was a member of the AmeriCares board from 2004 to 2006 before joining the organization’s senior management team. From 2006 to 2010 she served as AmeriCares Senior Vice President of Global Programs overseeing all aid deliveries in the United States and abroad, including all emergency response activities, in-kind donations from corporate partners, logistics and inventory management. During her tenure, she visited AmeriCares programs in India, El Salvador, Haiti, Cambodia, Honduras, Lebanon, Armenia and Romania. Ms. Frank previously worked for Time Warner as Vice President of Corporate Strategic Planning and spent nine years at McKinsey & Company as a partner in Media and Consumer Practices. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Harvard University.

C. Robert Henrikson, Former Chairman, President and CEO, MetLife, Inc.
Mr. Henrikson, the former Chairman, President and CEO of MetLife, Inc., joined the AmeriCares board in 2011. He currently serves on the board of Invesco Ltd. and has been nominated for the board of Swiss Re Holding in 2012. He also serves as chairman of the S.S. Huebner Foundation for Insurance Education and serves on the boards of The New York Botanical Garden, the New York Philharmonic, and the Partnership for New York City. He is a member of the board of trustees of the American Museum of Natural History and Emory University. He is a former chairman of the American Council of Life Insurers and the Financial Services Forum. In 2010, President Obama appointed him to the President’s Export Council, the foremost national advisory committee on international trade. Mr. Henrikson received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

John L. Kelly, Chief Operating Officer, Liquidnet Holdings, Inc.
Mr. Kelly joined the AmeriCares board in 2002. He is currently Chief Operating Officer of Liquidnet Holdings, Inc. Previously, Mr. Kelly was a private investor, and prior to that, he was Head of Portfolio Management for Societe General, COO of its U.S. Investment Banking Business, and a member of the Management Committee for SG Americas. Mr. Kelly has also worked at Bear Stearns, First Boston and Rockefeller Family & Associates. He earned a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University and a Master’s degree from the Yale School of Management.

Paul J. Kuehner, President, Building and Land Technology
Mr. Kuehner joined the AmeriCares board in 2010. He is President of Building and Land Technology, where he has worked since 1989. He is founder of the Men’s Ministry of St. Mary’s Church in Ridgefield, Conn., and a past chairman of the Annual Bishop’s Appeal for the Diocese of Bridgeport, Conn. Mr. Kuehner earned a B.S. from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Emory University.

Jerry Leamon, Former Managing Director, Deloitte
Mr. Leamon joined the AmeriCares board in 2005. He is a former Managing Director at Deloitte, responsible for all client and market-facing programs, including the Global Strategic Clients, Strategic Clients, and Global Industry Programs, as well as Marketing and Business Development. Mr. Leamon graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.B.A. in accounting, where he participated in a co-op student program with the Internal Revenue Service and earned CPA certification.

Robert G. Leary, Former President and Chief Operating Officer, ING Insurance U.S.
Mr. Leary joined the AmeriCares board in 2010. He is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of ING Insurance U.S. He serves on the Board of the Convent of the Sacred Heart School and formerly served on the board of the ING Foundation. Previously, he was CEO of ING Insurance U.S. from 2009 to 2011 and Chairman and CEO of ING Investment Management Americas from 2007 through 2009. Prior to joining ING, he held senior positions with American International Group and J.P. Morgan. He began his career as a lawyer with White & Case. Mr. Leary is a graduate of Union College and earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Keith McAllister, Principal, Upside Strategies
Mr. McAllister joined the AmeriCares board in 2013. A principal in the media consulting firm Upside Strategies, he started his career as a journalist and went on to hold a number of senior executive roles. Mr. McAllister has been General Manager of Thomson Reuters Consumer Media, CEO of Mochila, and Executive Vice President and Managing Editor of CNN, where he spent 17 years of his career and won and shared Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, Peabody, National Headliner and other awards. He earned a B.A. in English from Amherst College.

Joseph W. Merrill, Managing Member, Nor’East Capital, LLC
Mr. Merrill joined the AmeriCares board in 2002. He is currently the Managing Member of Nor’East Capital, LLC in New Canaan, Conn., formed in 1992 to evaluate and manage direct investment opportunities. Prior to Nor’East, Mr. Merrill worked for General Reinsurance Corporation. He has served as a trustee of New Canaan Country School, New Canaan Nature Center, New Canaan YMCA and the Connecticut chapter of The Nature Conservancy. He graduated from Williams College and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Joseph J. Rucci Jr., Esq., Partner, Rucci Law Group, LLC
Mr. Rucci joined the AmeriCares board in 2001. He is a founder and member of the Rucci Law Group, LLC in Darien, Conn. Mr. Rucci concentrates in business law, commercial law and not-for-profit law, and is admitted to practice before the Connecticut Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He holds a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law and a Bachelor of Social Science degree from Fairfield University.

Beverly Schuch, Former Anchor and Correspondent for CNN
Ms. Schuch was the former host of CNN’s award-winning program, Pinnacle, for 14 years. Her credits include an Emmy Award for outstanding interview and interviewer, the George Foster Peabody Broadcasting Award for her participation in CNN’s coverage of the 1987 stock market crash, as well as the New York Film Festival Finalist Award for Pinnacle. She graduated from Muskingum College in Ohio and attended the University of Barcelona as well as Simmons College for graduate studies.

Fred Weisman, President (Ret.), Aviation Management Services
Mr. Weisman joined the AmeriCares board in 2003. He is the former President of Aviation Management Services, a business aviation consulting company. Prior to that, he held positions with PepsiCo Airlease Corporation, Texas International Airlines, Bonanza Airlines, Trans World Airlines and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Mr. Weisman has long been active with AmeriCares and the HomeFront volunteer home repair program, among other charities. In 2003, he and his wife Joan were named Outstanding Philanthropists for Connecticut by the Connecticut & Fairfield County chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Business Management and earned a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Parks College of St. Louis University.

Stephen Winter, M.D., Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Norwalk Hospital; Clinical Professor of Medicine, Yale University
Dr. Winter joined the AmeriCares board in 2003. He is Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Norwalk Hospital and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Winter has received numerous awards for his contributions to medicine and international relief work, including the American Thoracic Society’s 2010 Public Service Award and the 2009 American College of Chest Physicians’ D. Robert McCaffree, MD, Master FCCP Humanitarian Award. He earned a medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, a M.S. in Systems Analysis and Synthesis from Stanford University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Illinois. He completed a residency in internal medicine at The New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering and a fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
