Our Work in Country

With an average life expectancy of 59 years, the people of this new country face a number of health issues worsened by ongoing conflict including some of the highest rates of maternal, infant and child mortality in the world.

In 2012 Americares sent its first shipment of medicine and medical supplies through partner Stop Hunger Now to support basic health care in clinics.

Working in South Sudan since it declared independence from Sudan where we have worked since 1987.
