PARTNER PROFILE:

AbbVie

AbbVie has been one of Americares strongest supporters since the company launched in 2013, with support from AbbVie and the AbbVie Foundation.

Rapid Responder

AbbVie has partnered with Americares for many years, donating both funding and medicine in support of the organization’s work around the world. The company is always one of the first to respond to domestic and international disaster work. Significant support given by AbbVie and the AbbVie Foundation has included the Philippines cyclone in 2013, Ebola outbreak in Liberia in 2014, multiple US hurricanes in 2017, flooding in Kerala, India as well as the Indonesia earthquake in 2018, the Venezuelan refugee situation in Colombia in 2019 and most recently, the COVID-19 response.

Partner in COVID-19

AbbVie has once again stepped up to help Americares—to respond to the greatest health crisis of our time. AbbVie is supporting Americares response to COVID-19, which is focused on ensuring that frontline health workers can continue to do lifesaving and lifechanging work on behalf of patients with COVID-19 and those in need of care for other essential health services and life-threatening conditions. AbbVie’s support is helping Americares provide personal protective equipment (PPE), medicines and supplies for front line health workers; provide COVID-19 training and technical assistance for health providers on Capacity Building, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS); and maintain continuity of care for Americares clinical health beneficiaries.
