Program Highlight
In 2020, the Astellas Global Health Foundation began providing transformational support to Americares Family Clinic in rural Usulután, El Salvador. The clinic is small but mighty—providing high-quality, affordable clinical consultations—more than 78,000 in 2018-19. The project is strengthening community resilience through clinical, community health and disaster preparedness efforts using a multi-layered approach to promoting health and resilience in some of the most impoverished communities in the region. The project also includes a poverty access fund set up to ensure that even those who are the most remote or who have the least amount of resources can receive the ongoing, compassionate care they need at the clinic.
