Kirk Humanitarian has been partnering with Americares since 2018, providing high-quality multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS) to improve maternal and child health. We provide these MMS to partners around the world. Together, we have reached more than half a million women in 21 countries, helping prevent maternal anemia, a significant driver of maternal death, and improving pregnancy outcomes by reducing the risk of still birth, low birth weight, and pre-term birth, among other benefits.

The multiple micronutrient supplements provided by Kirk Humanitarian complement maternal nutrition counseling and screenings and other vital antenatal services provided by our own clinics as well as partner providers.

About Kirk Humanitarian

Kirk Humanitarian is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring United Nations International Multiple Micronutrient Antenatal Preparation Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (UNIMMAP MMS) reaches women at risk of undernutrition during pregnancy, no matter where she happens to live. Kirk Humanitarian focuses on UNIMMAP MMS because it is a safe, effective, and affordable intervention that leads to healthier pregnancies for women and significantly improves birth outcomes for babies. They partner with manufacturers, develop guidance, and look for opportunities to lower the cost and increase demand for UNIMMAP MMS; donate supply to qualified grantees and help them facilitate introduction of UNIMMAP MMS into antenatal care programs; and advocate for programs and policies that support and optimize UNIMMAP MMS introduction on a large scale.
