Haiti One Year Anniversary Recovery Report

  • January 5, 2011

On this one year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, AmeriCares mourns the victims of the disaster and honors survivors. AmeriCares has delivered over $40 million in aid to Haiti to help survivors since January 12, 2010.

AmeriCares was on the ground within 48 hours of the 7.0-magnitude earthquake. Our relief efforts include sending medicines and medical supplies and supporting over 90 health care facilities serving the people of Haiti.

The earthquake of 2010 decimated an already fragile country and one year later, Haiti is still crippled by the many after effects. From ongoing earthquake recovery efforts to Hurricane Tomas and a deadly outbreak of cholera, Haiti cannot and will not be ignored. As we did following the 2004 tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, we will invest our resources in Haiti with great care in order to maximize our impact.

Despite the enormous challenges, we have accomplished a great deal. Please visit our interactive Haiti Earthquake report to watch videos, view a slideshow, read blogs and download a comprehensive report. You’ll also get to meet some of the Haitian people whose lives have been touched by AmeriCares.
