A new look but the same values and commitment to save lives and improve health for people in crisis. A simplified look – so our name can be read more easily, at any size, with an icon – symbolizing the people Americares serves, and our goal to reach many more people in need.

Our story continues.

For nearly 40 years, Americares has saved lives and improved health in the United States and around the world. Our commitment to helping those affected by poverty or disaster continues.

Americares visual identity has remained basically unchanged since 1979, when Americares founder Bob Macauley gave us our name and can-do spirit. The new logo and icon mirror the evolution of Americares since our founding—from an organization with one office in the U.S. to a truly global organization with more than half its employees working in seven field offices outside the country.

“This new logo and icon will take Americares into more places, to improve the health of more people, over the next 40 years.”

Michael J. Nyenhuis, President and CEO

Americares – changing as needs change

Our new logo is simplified so our name can be read easily at any size; it’s also designed for the digital age. The red and the blue of our original logo form the strong foundation of the new icon, which symbolizes the people Americares serves. This icon translates across cultures, showing the humanity at the forefront of everything we do.

And while our logo is new, our compassion for the people we help and our commitment to responsiveness and efficiency continues. We will always collaborate with local partners to create sustainable health improvements in their communities. And we remain the world’s largest nonprofit provider of donated medicine and medical supplies. Our emergency team responds to an average of 30 disasters each year, saving lives and restoring health for survivors.
