PARTNER PROFILE:

Southwest Airlines®

Southwest Airlines is an essential partner in helping Americares staff to place health at the center of action and support people and partners in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico. By providing flight vouchers and emergency response funds, the airline helps deliver health and relief far and wide.

A History of Helping the Helpers

Southwest Airlines® gets us there. By donating hundreds of flight vouchers to Americares each year, our staff can quickly respond to emergencies and support the health and well-being of people affected by poverty. Southwest’s expansive reach throughout the Americas and beyond provides pathways for us to deliver millions of dollars in aid each year. In addition, to lend support to victims of disaster, Southwest employees and customers have stepped up to raise funds.

Partner in Emergency Response

Southwest Airlines® became an Americares Emergency Response Partner in 2014. Through this partnership, Southwest is helping us provide the platform necessary for Americares to respond swiftly and effectively to crises around the globe while enhancing health center-based preparedness and ensuring recovery programs build towards sustainable solutions. In 2017, when hurricanes struck Texas, Florida and the Caribbean, Southwest quickly provided extra flight vouchers to Americares emergency responders to help get them to the devastated regions.

About Southwest

A world class airline, Southwest Airlines® is committed to giving back in the communities where its customers and employees live and work, as well as focusing at a broader level on disaster preparedness and response. Last year, the company distributed more than $19 million in contributed flight vouchers to charitable organizations.
