AmeriCares Airlift Benefit Raises a Record $2 Million

Stamford, Conn. – Sept. 23, 2014 – The AmeriCares Airlift Benefit on September 20, 2014, raised a record $2 million for the emergency response and global health organization. Longtime AmeriCares supporter Tony Goldwyn was the special guest, and featured speakers Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn spoke about giving back, making an impact and their latest book, “A Path Appears.” NBC News’ Weekend TODAY Co-Host Erica Hill served as Master of Ceremonies.

More than 850 guests attended the sold-out event at Westchester County Airport. The evening culminated with 100 guests boarding a chartered flight to see the clinics and hospitals AmeriCares supports in Nicaragua. The whirlwind 24-hour trip gave supporters an up-close look at the impact AmeriCares is making with its health programs and medical aid.
