Unilever Donation Helps U.S. Tornado Survivors

  • March 12, 2012

Stamford, Conn. – March 12, 2012 – Nearly 1,000 bottles of Dove shampoo donated by Unilever’s Global Design Center in Trumbull, Conn., are being distributed to tornado survivors in Kentucky as part of AmeriCares response to the deadly storms. The Unilever donation was part of AmeriCares first delivery of medical aid and relief supplies for the recent storms that left more than 50 people dead and thousands homeless across the South and Midwest. AmeriCares also delivered bottled water, cleaning products, diapers and baby care supplies, as well as first aid supplies for survivors injured digging through the rubble. The aid organization’s emergency response experts will be in Kentucky in the coming days to oversee the aid distribution, and will continue to offer assistance to communities in crisis as needs are identified.

AmeriCares has provided medical relief and humanitarian assistance to millions affected by natural disasters and man-made crises around the world for 30 years, including Hurricane Katrina in the United States. In 2011, Unilever supported AmeriCares relief efforts in Japan after the devastating earthquake and tsunami. The company has also supported the AmeriCares Free Clinics in Connecticut with product donations.
