While AmeriCares has been working around the clock for the past week to bring desperately needed relief to the survivors of the Myanmar disaster, we are deeply concerned about the health and well-being of the thousands affected by the earthquake in China.

AmeriCares has a member of our emergency response team in China assessing the health care needs and coordinating our emergency response with local NGOs and government relief organizations. Additional AmeriCares staff will arrive in China this week to help with our efforts to deliver critical medicines and medical supplies to health care providers in the affected areas.

We will share additional updates on our emergency response plans as we learn more from our contacts in the region.  AmeriCares is ready to mobilize an emergency response team to deliver the medicines and medical supplies needed to deal with the traumatic injuries that arise from an earthquake of this scale.
