What We Do
Every year, man-made conflicts and natural disasters leave innocent victims behind. A fleeing refugee in Kosovo, an Ethiopian child who has contracted malaria or a farmer from El Salvador whose livelihood has been shattered by flash floods - they all need humanitarian assistance. Whether it is short term relief, rehabilitation from damage, or a spur for long-term self-sustainability, human and material resources need to be mobilized rapidly and efficiently to end innocent suffering and prevent future crises.
Emergency Response
Being confronted with untold suffering and tragic disasters, AmeriCares has intensified its determination to deliver more needed aid as swiftly as possible. Hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, famine, refugee crises and civil strife are among the natural and man-made disasters AmeriCares responds to with life-saving emergency aid.
Global Medical Assistance
The global footprint of AmeriCares also extends into less-visible areas where the need is comparably critical. Fully 70 percent of the work of AmeriCares is applied to long-term relief and sustained health care. The relief we provide breaks down the barrier between suffering and comfort, between homelessness and shelter, and often, between life and death.
Camp Amerikids
AmeriCares brings laughter and love to underprivileged children affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS each summer at Camp AmeriKids.
