  • Syrian Refugee Relief Efforts

As a result of our relief efforts we currently have the following opportunities available:

  • West Africa Field Assignments

AmeriCares has been responding to the Ebola crisis in West Africa since April, and to date, has delivered over $2.5 million in personal protective equipment, medicines and supplies. In October, AmeriCares expanded the response efforts to include the staffing of an Ebola treatment unit (ETU) with our partner, the International Organization for Migration (IOM). AmeriCares is now working with national and local health officials in Liberia and Sierra Leone to design and implement programs to restore damaged health systems and to strengthen these systems so they are better equipped to both to meet day-to-day health needs and to respond to future epidemics.

As a result of our recovery initiatives we currently have the following opportunities available in West Africa:

  • Nepal Relief Efforts

AmeriCares is responding to the earthquake in Nepal with medicine and supplies. We have an emergency response team in Nepal now focused on quickly getting medicine and supplies where they are most needed, in order to save lives and protect the health of survivors. We are building shipments of emergency medicine here, at our headquarters in Stamford, and also at our Amsterdam and Mumbai, India warehouses.

Currently we are not sending volunteers to the field for this response. However, we will continue to assess our need for ‘on the ground support’ and this could change.

If you’re interested in potentially deploying to Nepal to help support our emergency response efforts if needed, please register your profile with our Nepal Relief Efforts.
