Associate Director, Major Gifts (Texas)
Individual PhilanthropyThe Associate Director, Major Gifts manages a growing portfolio of individual and family foundation prospects and donors. The Associate Director will identify, establish, cultivate and steward relationships with the goal of upgrading giving for donors and prospects to the $10,000-plus level. He/she will manage a portfolio of at least 75 actively engaged donors with the goal of growing that portfolio to a minimum of 150 within a 12-month time-frame through increases in support from existing donors and by developing new relationships from AmeriCares donor networks. This portfolio will be comprised of donors in the Southern states, primarily focused in Texas and Florida. Because of this, we would like the position to be based in Texas (open to Dallas or Houston areas).

In this role, the Associate, GIK Process Management will help to execute the process by which AmeriCares reviews and accepts gift-in-kind offers from pharmaceutical and other donor companies. They will build optimal shipments for regional partners across the globe, balancing available inventory and partner priorities.

AmeriCares Free ClinicsThe Clinic Director will be the team leader for this new clinic. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a trained R.N. to use their management and clinical experience to build something meaningful and great. Free ClinicsAmeriCares Free Clinics is expanding on its nearly twenty year history of providing quality health care to low-income, uninsured residents in Fairfield County (Danbury, Norwalk, & Bridgeport) with the planned opening of a clinic to serve low-income, uninsured patients in Stamford, Connecticut.
This program will start as a Mobile Medical Clinic, allowing us to create high visibility/broad community engagement and conduct a thorough study to identify the best permanent site. Based in our HQ at 88 Hamilton Ave, the Mobile Clinic and team will conduct clinic sessions at fixed locations across Stamford. These sessions will be from 2 – 7 PM, Tuesday through Thursday. Once established, it is likely that Saturday clinic hours will be added.
Each of our clinics is staffed by volunteer doctors, nurses, interpreters and screeners and draws upon the resources of community hospitals, laboratories and specialists to ensure access to a comprehensive health care delivery system.
To operate the clinic, manage the volunteers, and leverage donated services, we are seeking three staff members to be our Stamford Clinic team:
Nurse Practitioner
(18 hours per week)
Apply Here »The Nurse Practitioner will, under the supervision of the Clinic Director, and in collaboration with a physician, as needed, will determine and deliver primary medical care to our Stamford Clinic patients. This provider is critical to continuity of care as we build our volunteer corps and regular clinic schedule. Spanish language skills are preferred.
Patient Care Coordinator
(30 hours per week)
Apply Here »The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for patient scheduling, patient contact, and primary referrals made outside of the clinic. They manage the process to obtain individual patient medicines through Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) and determine overall patient eligibility for clinic services and PAP. Spanish language skills are required.
Bus Driver
(20 hours per week) Apply Here »The Bus Driver will be responsible for our physical mobile clinic. With a clean CDL- Class B (commercial driver’s license) and hands on school bus driving experience, this individual will drive the bus and set up for clinic sessions and return to safe storage at our Headquarter offices. In addition, they will oversee complete maintenance schedule on the vehicle and keep records of repairs, exterior cleaning and overall appearance of unit, and ability to greet and sign-in patients, including some basic patient screening and information gathering.

AmeriCares does not accept applications from individual volunteers for any of our overseas missions. We do, however, welcome volunteers at our headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, to help with project work, administrative duties, community programs, communications, graphic design and special events and we also welcome volunteers at our Free Clinics Program.

AmeriCares Free Clinics provide quality health care to Connecticut residents who do not have access to either private or public health insurance benefits. The Free Clinics seek doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, specialists, screeners and translators to volunteer for our clinics in Norwalk, Danbury and Bridgeport. Medical liability insurance is provided for medical volunteers and there are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the week. Administrative and special event volunteers are needed to help in our Stamford office. Volunteers can volunteer as often as their schedule allows. Please help us help our neighbors in need.

Web & Social Media Intern
Communications/WebAssist web team and web marketing manager in a variety of projects, including: writing web stories and content, posting content to blog and social media platforms, monitoring and reporting on social media activity, creating and producing downloadable and shareable content and images for social media, collaborating on marketing programs for major events including the Airlift Benefit and the ING New York City Marathon fundraisers as well as year-end giving. This is a fall internship opportunity and runs from September - December.
