    Associate / Sr. Associate Medical Outreach Program
    Medical Outreach Program

    The position has primary responsibility for tracking and reporting on program performance and inventory data, and establishing regular reporting that informs decisions on program management and growth opportunities. He/she has daily duties in the approval, vetting and processing of the majority of routine donations and Zimmer product donation requests submitted on the Medical Outreach ordering website. The associate contributes to and supports efforts to strategically grow the program, realize process efficiencies, improve donation oversight, and develop a major revision of the ordering website and related reporting capabilities.

    Associate, Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Process Management

    In this role, the Associate, Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Process Management will help to execute the process by which AmeriCares reviews and accepts product donation offers from pharmaceutical and other donor companies. They will build optimal shipments for regional partners across the globe, balancing available inventory and partner priorities.

    Field Based Project Consultant, Health Workforce Safety Program Manager (Tanzania)

    AmeriCares seeks to engage a fulltime (fieldbased) project consultant for our Health Workforce Safety (HWS) Progarm. This position will facilitate the implementation of the HWS Program scale-out at three hospital sites in Tanzania’s Lake Zone, over the course of 3 years. The incumbent will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with project strategy, commitments and goals.

    Manager, Donor Communications & Proposal Development
    Institutional Relations

    Reporting to the Associate Director, Foundation Partnerships, the Manager of Donor Communications and Proposal Development plays a central role in developing content to be used by the Development team for donor stewardship purposes. The Manager develops and coordinates a comprehensive communication process and calendar to appropriately and consistently promote interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. In this capacity, he/she serves as a lead writer and originator of compelling content for proposals, reports and other communications utilized by staff who manage relationships with corporate and foundation donors. He/she also creates content used by the broader Development team (Corporate and Foundation Partnerships and Individual Philanthropy) including emergency response updates and cases for support. The Manager is charged with coordinating proposal development activities across the organization, working closely with Development team and Program leadership to prioritize and track proposal development.

    Medical Officer or Chief Pharmacist; and Senior Technical Advisor, Access to Medicines and Supplies
    Global Programs

    The Senior Technical Advisor is responsible for enhancing the quality and impact of AmeriCares delivery of medicines and medical supplies to health care institutions in low-resource settings through the Global Medical Assistance Program and Emergency Response & Recovery Program. S/he informs decisions to accept and allocate donated pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, worth over $500 million annually, so that they may be utilized safely and effectively by recipient health care partners in low resource settings in 90 countries. Reporting to SVP, Global Programs, and working closely with the Corporate Relations and Global Partnerships teams, the Senior Technical Advisor contributes to resource mobilization, through the development of funding proposals and project plans to strengthen health systems. In these ways and more, the Senior Technical Advisor contributes substantively to the achievement of AmeriCares five year strategy.

    AmeriCares volunteers are a meaningful part of the organization and are integral to our success. Each year hundreds of volunteers work in various capacities at our headquarters or as part of our Free Clinics community program. AmeriCares does not accept applications from individual volunteers for any of our overseas missions. We do, however, welcome volunteers at our headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, to help with project work, administrative duties, community programs, communications, graphic design and special events and we also welcome volunteers at our Free Clinics Program.

    AmeriCares Free Clinics provide quality health care to Connecticut residents who do not have access to either private or public health insurance benefits. The Free Clinics seek doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, specialists, screeners and translators to volunteer for our clinics in Norwalk, Danbury and Bridgeport. Medical liability insurance is provided for medical volunteers and there are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the week. Administrative and special event volunteers are needed to help in our Stamford office. Volunteers can volunteer as often as their schedule allows. Please help us help our neighbors in need.

    Emergency Response

    The Emergency Response internship provides an opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing careers in the fields of public health, health care and/or disaster management. The position is focused on supporting the United States emergency management program, with intermittent support to global departmental initiatives. The intern will be engaged in the Emergency Response team’s daily work-flow by both taking on assignments of immediate importance and by also focusing on lengthier assignments that contribute to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our work.
