    Sr. Associate, US Medical Assistance Program (Program Expansion & Reporting)

    The Senior Associate manages the program’s outreach and expansion activities, completes data analysis and program reporting, manages product inventory, and manages efforts to build program capacity and enhance efficiencies. In addition, the Senior Associate conducts research to support planning, provides administrative support, and assists with AmeriCares relief efforts following domestic disasters and emergencies.

    Sr. Associate, US Medical Assistance Program (US Medical Assistance)
    US Medical Assistance

    The Senior Associate manages relationships with the program’s safety net partners. He/she serves as the primary point of contact for ongoing program partners, is responsible for screening and onboarding new program partners, ensures partner compliance with AmeriCares policies and required protocols, and manages product orders placed by partners on USAccess, the program’s online inventory and ordering system. In addition, the Senior Associate provides administrative support to the program and assists with AmeriCares relief efforts following domestic disasters and emergencies.

    Warehouse Associate

    In this role, the Warehouse Associate will be responsible for end-to-end functional operations in AmeriCares Stamford Distribution Center, a Pharmaceutical Warehouse distributing all scheduled drugs up to Class II narcotics. They will process inbound deliveries of donated and purchased palletized and case goods (medicine & medical consumables), organize & maintain the warehouse environment & equipment, complete outbound orders by picking and packing (using a hand-held scanner), as well as loading/unloading inbound and outbound trucks. This is a dynamic working environment with job assignments shifting daily to accommodate the needs of the Foundation. The position is full time, 40hrs/week (hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with a 45 minute paid lunch) and offers outstanding benefits and the opportunity to work with a great team, committed to the important mission ofAmeriCares.

Each year hundreds of volunteers work in various capacities at our headquarters or as part of our Free Clinics community program. AmeriCares does not accept applications from individual volunteers for any of our overseas missions. We do, however, welcome volunteers at our headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, to help with project work, administrative duties, community programs, communications, graphic design and special events and we also welcome volunteers at our Free Clinics Program.

    ...at our Free Clinics

    AmeriCares Free Clinics provide quality health care to Connecticut residents who do not have access to either private or public health insurance benefits. The Free Clinics seek doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, specialists, screeners and translators to volunteer for our clinics in Norwalk, Danbury and Bridgeport. Medical liability insurance is provided for medical volunteers and there are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the week. Administrative and special event volunteers are needed to help in our Stamford office. Volunteers can volunteer as often as their schedule allows. Please help us help our neighbors in need.

    Opportunities in Global Programs this summer exist in 4 areas:

    Emergency Response

    AmeriCares Emergency Response (ER) department leads the organization’s response to disasters around the world. ER directs the delivery of medicines and supplies to treat illnesses and injuries caused by the disaster; supports the restoration of health care services in affected areas; addresses the psychosocial and mental health needs of disaster survivors; and helps communities and health care institutions prepare for future disasters.

    International Partnerships & Programs

    Global teams and programs serve the region in which they work to increase quality and accessibility of health services. They do this by coordinating with in-country partners to design and implement health focused programs & initiatives, deliver in-kind medical aid and provide outcome measurements and evaluation of these efforts.

    Monitoring & Evaluation

    This active unit collaborates across the organization to document results for AmeriCares core programs and assists the organization in building its long-term Monitoring and Evaluation capabilities.

    Process Management

    The Process Management team plays a key decision-making and coordinating role, overseeing the supply chain from the offer of product donations from pharmaceutical companies through the distribution of products to our international partners. They use several data and analysis tools to guide decision-making and to help manage various processes. It’s Match, Move and Measure here.

    Opportunities in Development / Fundraising this summer exist in 2 areas:

    Institutional Relations Fundraising

    AmeriCares Institutional Relations (IR) team is responsible for identifying and stewarding corporate and foundation donors in order to secure financial support for AmeriCares international and domestic programs.

    Development Systems

    Development Systems is responsible for the operational and prospect management reporting work of the Development department. This primarily focuses on revenue and portfolio management and reporting in our Blackbaud Client Relationship Management (CRM) database.

    Opportunities in Communications this summer exist in 3 areas:

    Social Media & Web Marketing

    The Web team maintains/builds/enhances all of AmeriCares online channels of communication including multiple web sites, applications and a growing presence in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube). The team also creates/develops/publishes content for each channel.

    Publications & Media

    The Publications & Media group handles internal and external communications at AmeriCares. They are the ‘Brand’ ambassadors. Among their core responsibilities are development of all print collateral and digital materials, brand management and media outreach.

    Multi-media & Digital

    The Multimedia team is responsible for the creation, storage, and distribution of AmeriCares images and video for internal and external audiences. Additionally, they maintain and configure AmeriCares audio/video equipment.
