Camp AmeriKids
Camp AmeriKids offers children ages 7-15 who are affected by or infected with HIV/AIDS a traditional camp experience complimented by year-round programs. During the summer, the camp seeks volunteer counselors, medical staff, social workers, activities instructors and other professionals to help staff two camp sessions at the end of July and the beginning of August. In total, between 80 and 90 volunteers are needed for each session.
AmeriCares Free Clinics
AmeriCares Free Clinics provide quality health care to Connecticut residents who do not have access to either private or public health insurance benefits. The Free Clinics seek doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, primary care physicians, specialists, screeners and translators to volunteer for our clinics in Norwalk, Danbury and Bridgeport. Medical liability insurance is provided for medical volunteers and there are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the week. Administrative and special event volunteers are needed to help in our Stamford office. Volunteers can volunteer as often as their schedule allows. Please help us help our neighbors in need.
AmeriCares HomeFront
AmeriCares HomeFront is the largest domestic outreach program undertaken by AmeriCares each year. Its goal is to help homeowners remain safely and comfortably in a hazard-free home. The program is dedicated to "raising spirits and restoring hope" through an annual, volunteer-driven, free day of essential home repairs. The program primarily benefits senior citizens living on a fixed income, people with mental or physical challenges, those facing chronic or life-threatening illness and single parents.
Volunteers of diverse skills are needed at the program headquarters in Stamford throughout the year to help make the program a success. HomeFront seeks operational and logistical talent, as well as volunteers to work on product solicitation, information gathering, research, data entry and general office support.
Volunteers with building inspection experience are also needed to evaluate applicants' homes, as are those with people skills to help conduct homeowner interviews. HomeFront also seeks professional plumbers, electricians, carpenters, general contractors, painters and masons to make HomeFront Day a huge success.
