Grifols partners with Americares heavily for hemophilia drugs and medications. In late-August 2013, Grifols donated most of the therapies needed for Camp Ray of Hope in North Carolina to host 40 children from Romania who suffer from hemophilia. The camp gives children with hemophilia the opportunity to engage in physical activities that are too dangerous the rest of the year.

Hemophilia is a rare, genetic disorder primarily affecting boys that prevents blood from clotting. Children with hemophilia risk serious, and sometimes life-threatening injuries from even a minor cut or fall. While there is no cure for the disease, hemophilia can be managed through regular administration of blood-clotting medications, Factor VII and Factor IX.
