Americares Airlift Benefit 2020

A Thank You from Christine Squires, CEO of Americares

Dear Airlift Benefit Guests,

To our partners, donors and friends who made this year’s Americares Airlift Benefit Livestream a success — my sincerest thanks. Last night, we celebrated Americares life-changing work, made possible only by support from friends like you. Although we could not gather in person, Americares supporters came together as always — whether in support of Americares Airlift Benefit or in response to a crisis when action is required. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise more than $1.8 Million, which will make health possible for countless individuals in the U.S. and around the world.

Our program this year celebrated the more than 60 million health workers who provide critical services around the world. With your support, we will continue to work on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and emergencies like the wildfires on the West coast and devastating hurricanes in the Gulf. In addition, our ongoing health programs will help tackle discrimination and other barriers that keep Americans from the health care they need.

Please share the Livestream video with colleagues and friends so they can view the program any time at Americares.org/Airlift2020. If you would like to make a fully tax-deductible gift to our work, there’s still time! Our textgiving.com number will be open today and all next week. Simply text your Name + Amount to 475-252-8977.

Americares is committed to saving lives and improving the health of people affected by poverty and disaster. We are tremendously grateful for your partnership, and I hope we can gather together in person at next year’s event. In the meantime, on behalf of everyone at Americares, we wish you and your families good health and safety in the coming months.

With sincerest gratitude,

Christine Squires

At Americares, we believe good health is the key to all human development. Overcoming barriers to quality health care is at the core of our mission.

2020 presented all of us with new challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the important call to action around social inequity. Americares continues to work on the front lines of the pandemic, training health workers and delivering critical supplies at home and around the world. To date, we have sent 500 shipments with more than 145 tons of protective equipment, including 2.5 million masks.

Meet our Co-Hosts

Tony Goldwyn

Tony Goldwyn

Mr. Goldwyn joined the board in 2018. An actor, director and producer, he recently finished a sold-out run of director Ivo Van Hove’s Broadway production of “Network” with Bryan Cranston and Tatiana Maslany. He was also seen on the Netflix series, “Chambers,” starring alongside Uma Thurman and on Shonda Rhimes’ remarkable series “Scandal” where he played President Fitzgerald Grant for seven seasons. Mr. Goldwyn has appeared in and/or directed dozens of feature films and television shows throughout his successful career.

Jackie Cruz

Actor, entrepreneur, vocalist and longtime Americares supporter, Jackie Cruz, became a household name from her portrayal of Marisol ‘Flaca’ Gonzales on Netflix’s critically acclaimed series, “Orange Is the New Black.”
