Stamford, Conn. – July 28, 2015 – Near & Far Aid has awarded a $20,000 grant to the AmeriCares Free Clinics in Bridgeport and Norwalk to support quality health care for low-income Fairfield County residents without health insurance. The grant will defray operating expenses for both the Weisman AmeriCares Free Clinic at 115 Highland Avenue in Bridgeport and the Bob Macauley AmeriCares Free Clinic at 98 South Main Street in Norwalk. AmeriCares patients receive primary care, including medications, lab work and diagnostic testing, all at no cost.
“Near & Far Aid has been a great partner for 17 years, helping to ensure we have the resources to keep our doors open and our patients well,” said AmeriCares Free Clinics Executive Director Karen Gottlieb. “With their support, we are increasing access to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.”
