THANK YOU!

To our partners, donors and friends who made the 31st Americares Airlift Benefit so memorable — our sincerest thanks. Saturday night, we celebrated Americares life-changing work, made possible only by support from friends like you. We also wished our airlift passengers a safe trip to Puerto Rico, where they witnessed how Americares is helping restore health services in the aftermath Hurricane Maria, which devastated the island just over one year ago.

Because of your generosity, we were able to raise more than $ 3 million, which will help make health possible for countless individuals in the U.S. and around the world.

Americares is committed to saving lives and improving the health of people affected by poverty and disaster. We are grateful for your partnership and hope to see you at next year’s event. The 2019 Airlift Benefit will feature an airlift to the Dominican Republic, where Americares reaches over 100 local health providers—including hospitals, local health centers and orphanages—and provided more than $40 million in aid last year.

Airlift to
Puerto Rico

Americares in
Puerto Rico

When Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico on September 18, 2017, the massive storm’s 155 mph winds tore off roofs and cut the island’s power supply, while torrential rain flooded communities. Puerto Rico’s 3.3 million residents were without power for months and many had no water. Survivors sought health care in damaged health centers operating on generators. Americares immediate response included airlifts of medicine and medical supplies, mobile medical teams for vulnerable patients in remote communities, support for damaged health centers and transportation for patients in need of critical care. Americares long-term recovery activities focus on mental health and disaster preparedness, with the goal of a fully recovered and more resilient Puerto Rico.
