Tennessee Tornado

A tornado raced through Nashville, Tennessee and the nearby region late on March 2, killing at least 24 people, injuring dozens while destroying numerous homes and other buildings across several counties. The twister with 165 mph winds was part of severe storm system that left tens of thousands of people without power and hundreds at least temporarily without homes. Americares has offered assistance to several health centers affected by the storms and is sending medicine and relief supplies to help affected families.

Americares has responded to a number of Tornado disasters in recent years including the tornadoes in Joplin, MO and Moore, OK.
