Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan Border Conflict

In response to the recent clashes at the Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan border, Americares in partnership with a Avesto, a local nonprofit organization, has sent over $775K worth of medicines and supplies to support an estimated 450,000 people in the conflict zone, helping to replenish stockouts at hospitals and health facilities serving those who have been impacted by the fighting. The shipment contains chronic disease medications, wound care products, surgical supplies and other lifesaving items. Clashes over the border are frequent and often lead families to become displaced and go without basic health services. We also are helping to reconstruct a health center in the Isfara district in Tajikistan.
