Americares emergency programs team is working with Nepal and India teams to assess needs following the deadly monsoon flooding.
In Nepal, more than 10,000 people have been displaced, at least 100 people have been killed and these numbers could rise further as forecasts call for continued rain throughout the week. Many key roads have been affected, hampering communication and assessment efforts. Americares team in Kathmandu is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Population and local partners to restock health facilities with essential medicines and relief supplies.
In India, more than 2.6 million people have been affected across Assam and other eastern states, and more than 20 deaths have been reported. Americares India team is responding to the floods with medical camps and humanitarian aid.
