To transfer stock or securities to AmeriCares:

Your broker can transfer stock electronically to our account at U.S. Trust Co.  For instructions, please contact Holly Donaldson at (203) 658-9687 or hdonaldson@americares.org.  You may also call toll-free at 1-800-486-HELP (4357) ext. 687.

Because complete donor information in electronic transfers is not always provided, please alert Holly in advance of your transfer regarding the stock name and number of shares you plan to give.

For physical transfers of stock certificates, please contact Holly for more information.

Once transfers are complete, we will provide you with proper tax acknowledgement.  Please note that the IRS dictates that stocks be valued based on the average stock price on the date they are received into our account, which may differ from your statement value.
