Partner in Profile:
ING

AmeriCares and the ING Foundation share a commitment to bring urgently needed help to people in crisis no matter the challenges. For more than 10 years, ING U.S., its employees and the ING Foundation have ensured that AmeriCares is prepared to respond when disaster strikes. Their support has been critical to maintaining the expertise and capabilities necessary to launch emergency responses swiftly, effectively and without hesitation. They recognize that preparation is the foundation of relief efforts.

Once disaster strikes, from earthquakes, typhoons and disease outbreaks around the world to hurricanes and tornadoes here in the United States, ING U.S. has been our partner in bringing relief and recovery to devastated communities. In our last fiscal year, AmeriCares sent crucial medicines and supplies to 24 emergency events in 18 countries, delivering medicine for 1.8 million.

In 2012, the ING Foundation formally became an Annual Emergency Response Partner. With the year-round support of ING U.S., AmeriCares can strengthen its emergency capacity by monitoring events, conducting in-country assessments with partners and government agencies, prepositioning medical and relief aid in disaster-prone regions, and maintaining emergency pharmacy inventory at our headquarters, as well as at our regional warehouse and distribution hubs.

ING U.S. has been a generous sponsor of the AmeriCares Annual Airlift Benefit that provides significant support for all AmeriCares global programs. Thanks to ING U.S. and other event sponsors, more aid goes to more people in need of help every year.

The ING Foundation is the charitable giving arm of ING U.S. It supports efforts that empower people to secure a better future through charitable partnerships, employee volunteerism and charitable contributions. The foundation awards grants to non-profit organizations addressing a variety of community needs and resources.
