Children under age five, and expectant and breastfeeding mothers in need of nutritional stabilization were the first to receive nutrient-rich XANGO meal pack porridge as part of an AmeriCares-supported supplemental feeding program for famine victims in Somalia
Kosovo:
Behare, 25, mother of twins Orges and Orget, 10 months old, who were born at the University of Pristina/Hospital Neonatology Unit after only 28 weeks gestation...Orges weighted 1100 grams and Orget weighted 1200 grams, now both healthy and with their mother at the family farm.

“I strongly believe that if mothers are happy, babies are happy,” said Dr. Honami Yoshida, working with AmeriCares to care for new mothers, newborns, and expectant mothers recovering in the aftermath of the devastating March, 2011 earthquake in Japan.
El Salvador:
Ana Deisy and her son Miguel get their health care at AmeriCares Family Clinic in Santiago de Maria. “When my sons and I need to see a doctor or get a prescription, the clinic is there for us,” said Ana Deisy. “The whole staff is so caring and thorough – I really don't know what we would do without them.”

Bangladesh
In impoverished countries like Bangladesh, it’s a struggle for mothers to get proper medical care for themselves and their children, because doctors and nurses don’t have the basic medicines and supplies they need. We’re working to change that.

Malawi:
Christina Banda picked up her monthly supply of Isomil, Xango mealpacks and other supplements and immediately cooked a pot of fortified porridge under a tree in front of the hospital for her daughter Taunga, a graduate of the Therapeutic Feeding Centre. Little Taunga, now over a year old, has been thriving on monthly nutritional supplements provided by AmeriCares since she was four months old.
