AmeriCares responds immediately to disasters to reduce suffering and restore health. After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck the Gulf Coast, AmeriCares delivered medicines, bottled water and other relief supplies to residents in Louisiana and Mississippi. On 9/11, AmeriCares delivered doctors to Ground Zero to help treat survivors and first-responders. Our work in the Gulf Coast continues even today.
Recently, we have responded to tornadoes in the Midwest and South, floods in along the Mississippi, in Washington state, Iowa, Indiana, wildfires in Texas and California, survivors of Hurricane Ike in Texas; as well as to people impacted by the deadly ice storms in Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas. Wherever disaster strikes in the U.S. and around the world, we are ready to help save lives.
