AmeriCares provides health centers, clinics and providers with medicines, medical supplies and critical resources. This provides budget relief during these difficult economic times and helps improve access to health care to the people who need it now more than ever. In the last two years, AmeriCares Medical Assistance Program for the United States has supplied more than 150 individual clinics with over 450 shipments of pharmaceuticals and supplies valued at over $36 million. This is an average value of nearly a quarter million dollars to each of our partners over two years. AmeriCares acquires donations from corporate donors, provides shipping, and tracks participation to better serve providers and their patients. Learn more:
How it WorksThe AmeriCares process is simple yet effective. We receive a variety of pharmaceutical and medical donations from healthcare corporations. Once these donations are in our warehouse, AmeriCares makes offers to approved partners who respond with a request from the list of available items. AmeriCares then builds the order and sends a manifest for the partner to sign in advance. Partners return a confirmation form upon receipt. Requirements and CriteriaAmeriCares partners with non-profit clinics who serve a target population that is uninsured and living below 200% of the poverty level. AmeriCares donations must be distributed to patients for free. Partners must have proper inventory, storage and security measures in place for their pharmaceuticals, and must be in line with national and regional regulations. The ability to track patients is essential, in case of recall.
