Bulgaria

AmeriCares provides humanitarian and medical aid to its local partner the Bulgarian Red Cross. The partnership that began in 2002 helps support the distribution of medicines, medical supplies, nutritional supplements and clothing to hospitals, clinics and orphanages throughout the country.  

AmeriCares responded to severe flooding in Bulgaria in the summer of 2005 by sending an emergency shipment of medicines to our partner in order to aid those affected by the flood.  

In 2000 and 2001, AmeriCares supported several community-based public health initiatives of the Soglum Avlod Uchun Foundation, which focused on primary health care through ambulatory clinics and children's programs.
