Ongoing Aid

Close to two billion people - one-third of the world's population - have inadequate access to medicines; the majority of them live in developing countries.  These people are not only the victims of news-making catastrophes; they are also affected by the 'silent disasters' caused by grinding poverty and inadequate access to medicines - children dying from preventable or treatable illnesses, adults unable to provide for their families due to chronic or infectious diseases.  These people have ongoing needs for medicines and aid.

Providing long-term access to medicines and medical supplies is at the core of AmeriCares mission.  The relief we provide breaks down the barrier between suffering and comfort, between sickness and health, and often, between life and death.
