AmeriCares Medical Outreach Program donates medical products to qualified U.S. health care professionals who are traveling overseas to provide charitable medical care to some of the most marginalized and under-served people in more than 70 countries around the world. Requests for donations come from a wide spectrum of health care professionals, ranging from individual physicians and faith-based medical groups to sophisticated surgical teams. The recipients of our medical donations travel to some of the poorest parts of the world, where even basic medical care is often non-existent.
Our program donates products to health care practitioners who will use these products to provide charitable medical services in countries outside of the United States.
In order to request prescription medicines, you or someone traveling with you must have a current U.S. license to prescribe medicine. If no one in your group has a U.S. license to prescribe, you may request non-prescription products, if available. In either event, you must be personally traveling to the destination country to oversee the use of the donated products.
Requests are limited to:

one donation per trip, regardless of the number of participants, and
-
two donations per calendar year for each group or individual. Please allow approximately three weeks for processing your request.
We are happy to honor your request and there is no charge for our donations. However, the demand for products has increased to the point that we are now asking for a suggested contribution of $200 or more per trip to help offset some of the costs of providing this service. All gifts are tax deductible.
