| August 29, 2005: Hurricane Katrina hits the Gulf Coast on the Louisiana/Mississippi border; AmeriCares relief personnel are dispatched within 24 hours. |  |
| September 2005: AmeriCares relief shipments begin arriving. |  |
| September 2005: The AmeriCares Free Clinic mobile medical unit arrives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. |  |
| October 2005: AmeriCares awards a grant to the St. Thomas Clinic in New Orleans, to aid them as they plan to rebuild. |  |
| November 2005: Eight Sprung structures are delivered to St. Bernard Parish in New Orleans to provide shelter for various relief needs. |  |
| February 2006: AmeriCares donates two Sprung structures to Pass Christian, Mississippi, where they serve as day care centers in the local "tent city" to assist in childcare needs as residents return to work. |  |
| April 2006: AmeriCares supports 57 local grass roots organizations with grants totaling $1.3 million. |  |
| July 2006: Coastal Family Health opens new mobile medical clinic made possible by AmeriCares funding. |  |
| August 2006: In Louisiana, 34 mental and primary health care grants totaling $3.1 million are awarded by AmeriCares to support these critical needs. |  |
| November 2006: AmeriCares partners with New Orleans Children's Hospital in support of school immunization program. |  |
| February 2007: AmeriCares awards 19 grants to support community-based free clinics to help support services to uninsured local residents. |  |
| November 2007: AmeriCares staff joins with local residents and partners at KaBoom! to build a playground in the distressed community of Creole, Louisiana. |  |
| June 2008: The New Orleans Adolescent Hospital (NOAH) debuts its children’s mobile mental health clinic, NOAH’s Arc, a project funded in part by AmeriCares. |  |
