Pakistan’s Swat Valley Families to Receive Aid from AmeriCares

AmeriCares is preparing an emergency shipment of medicines and supplies for more than 600,000 people displaced by the recent fighting in the embattled Swat Valley in Pakistan.

As the violence intensifies between the government and Taliban militants, it is estimated that as many as 1.3 million innocent civilians will be forced to flee their homes.

AmeriCares has delivered medical aid to our health care partners in Mexico and to clinics that serve the poor and uninsured here at home in the United States. Recent reports show that nearly a third of the world's population could be affected by the outbreak by the fall of 2009.
