AmeriCares PAP announces a new partnership
November 17, 2006
AmeriCares Patient Assistance Programs has announced an important partnership with Alaven Pharmaceutical of Marietta, Georgia. Alaven Pharmaceutical recently acquired the rights to manufacture and distribute Anadrol®-50, an anabolic steroid indicated for the treatment of anemias caused by deficient red blood cell production.
At present there are patients who have a critical need for Anadrol®-50; the ability to get this medication through the cooperation of Alaven Pharmaceutical and AmeriCares is a truly life-saving opportunity.
By assisting in the setup of the Alaven Assistance Program, AmeriCares will ensure that qualified patients who need Anadrol®-50 will receive their medicine.
"We at Alaven are proud to offer this program to the patients who will benefit from their continued Anadrol®-50 therapy", says Peter Welchman, Anadrol®-50 Product Manager. "Responsible, non-profit humanitarian organizations such as AmeriCares provide patients, who might not otherwise get the health care they deserve, with access to the best medicines that the pharmaceutical industry has to offer. Such organizations ensure that all patients have a friend to turn to in the event that they need a helping hand."
As the first new partnership in the AmeriCares PAP program since 2000, Alaven Pharmaceutical represents an important step in increasing the program's breadth and range. Although currently, Alaven has only Anadrol®-50 in its patient assistance program, AmeriCares has also received two donations of CalafolTMRx and HexafluTM from Alaven Pharmaceutical. These important drugs will be allocated in a timely manner to those in the United States who do not have access to prescription drugs.
AmeriCares PAP has been helping people to get the medications they need since 1994.
