Hundreds of premature babies have been saved in the impoverished country of Kosovo, thanks medical aid delivered by AmeriCares to the Foundation for Healthy Mothers and Babies. Since 2007, AmeriCares has delivered more than 1,000 vials of surfactant donated by Abbott to the foundation for use in a neonatal ICU, along with crucial supplies that make a lifesaving difference for newborns at risk.

1988 Armenia Earthquake Survivor Returns for AmeriCares 25th

Arman Ghazaryan, a victim of the devastating1988 Armenian earthquake that leveled his hometown of Spitak, had been airlifted to the United States by AmeriCares for a damaged leg and a crushed skull. Now, eighteen years later, AmeriCares brought Ghazaryan back to New York to attend the gala and reunite with the various people who helped him recover.
