AmeriCares ranks number seven on the Forbes Magazine’s 2008 list of “America’s 200 Largest Charities,” up from number eight in 2007. AmeriCares is also among the leaders on the prestigious magazine’s list of organizations for “Charitable Commitment” in 2008. The Charitable Commitment ranking is based on program versus fundraising and operating expenses.

AmeriCares Gift-In-Kind Model helps us to deliver $3,400 in aid for every $100 of financial contribution. AmeriCares is one of only four nonprofits to earn Forbes top fundraising efficiency rating. AmeriCares earns the highest rating for efficiency, a measure of critical important to our donors. This efficiency rating reflects the fact that over 98% of our program expenses directly support delivery of aid – and less than 2% is allotted to administrative and fund raising costs.
AmeriCares also ranked number eight in the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s “The Philanthropy 400” which rates charities based on the amount of support they raise from individuals, foundations and corporations.
AmeriCares has also received high marks from The American Institute of Philanthropy, Better Business Bureau, Charity Navigator and The NonProfit Times.
