AstraZeneca is donating medicines in countries around the world, helping to improve the lives of people with little or no access to basic health care. Well-known for developing medicines designed to combat some of the world’s most devastating and debilitating diseases, such as cancer, heart disease and asthma, AstraZeneca donates these and other products that are critical in supporting AmeriCares humanitarian activities. In 2008, AstraZeneca joined with AmeriCares and Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE to launch the Breast Cancer Initiative, the only successful breast cancer screening program in Cambodia's public sector for poor patients.
