Louisiana Tornadoes

Overview

At least seven tornadoes touched down in southeast Louisiana on Tuesday, including one in East New Orleans, causing major damage as a line of severe storms swept through the region. A state of emergency has been declared in the affected counties with at least 31 people reported injured and no fatalities. Our emergency team is in contact with partners in the area to determine if assistance will be needed.  In 2016, Americares responded to historic flooding in Louisiana, helping to reopen a clinic and restoring health care access to people in crisis.
