Stamford, Conn. – June 11, 2013 – The Boehringer Ingelheim AmeriCares Free Clinic of Danbury is seeking physician volunteers to help provide free, high-quality medical care for the uninsured. Primary care doctors are needed Monday through Thursday and on Saturday mornings. The time commitment is manageable –  volunteers typically work one four-hour shift a month with flexible scheduling. Medical malpractice insurance is provided for all medical volunteers while on site. The clinic staff provides case management services and schedules all laboratory and diagnostic testing for patients.

The clinic, located at 76 West Street in downtown Danbury, is the busiest of AmeriCares three free clinics in Connecticut with 1,300 patients making more than 4,300 patient visits annually. It offers primary care services as well as endocrinology, ophthalmology and physiatry services to low-income residents of Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford, Redding and Ridgefield without health insurance.
