Hurricane Sandy Funding

Funds have provided relief to hard hit areas including Long Beach, the Rockaways, Coney Island, Gerritsen Beach, Red Hook and Staten Island in New York as well as to communities along the New Jersey Coast from Keansburg to Brick to Atlantic City.

Americares has provided more than $3 million in funding to partner organizations in New York (63%), New Jersey (28%) and Connecticut (8%). Of the more than $3 million, 71% of the funds went to programming in mental health and case management and the restoration of health services. Funds have provided relief to hard hit areas including Long Beach, the Rockaways, Coney Island, Gerritsen Beach, Red Hook and Staten Island in New York as well as to communities along the New Jersey Coast from Keansburg to Brick to Atlantic City.
