“Whole Foods currently allows customers to donate $1, $5, or $10 at checkout to AmeriCares to benefit Haiti after the earthquake. I donated $10 on my last grocery trip and came here to check out the organization. I am very impressed by their efficiency and the amount of money that actually goes toward helping people. Their website also claims that for every $100 donated by individuals, they are able to give $3,500 in aid because of their corporate partners. I will be giving to AmeriCares again in the future.

“About 6 years ago I had some items to donate to AmeriCares and so I drove to their office in CT. At the time I was working in an office with cherrywood furniture and plush carpets. The AmeriCares office though was BARE BONES - all "basic" - metal desks, older phones, commercial carpeting and very very busy - but HAPPY people working there. From that point on AmeriCares gets almost ALL of our charitable giving. I know most of our donation will be used for the specific human need.
