Sr. Associate, Development (Institutional Relations)

Opportunity Details:
The Sr. Associate for the Institutional Relations Department reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Relations and supports the Vice President, Director and the Associate Director of Institutional Relations on strategic and administrative initiatives. In addition, this position is the primary liaison for all Employee Giving Campaigns including the Global Impact Program which specifically focuses on employee campaigns for international organizations. Additionally, the Sr. Associate supports the department by maintaining the donor database system and provides donor reporting and other research information to the team which is utilized for measuring impact, donor analysis, new business development and reporting purposes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Vice President, Director and Associate Director of Institutional Relations (IR) on strategic and administrative initiatives:
- Strategic Initiatives:
- Provide background research on potential new donors; including company/donor history with AmeriCares utilizing PIDI. Research company/donors philanthropic goals/objectives;
- Develop and maintain PowerPoint presentation templates for internal and external use;
- Create and maintain department documents (i.e., budgets, strategic plans, revenue reports);
- Complete cyber grant applications on request for pharma and non-pharma donors;
- Review unsolicited opportunities received by AmeriCares and recommend appropriate action to pursue or reject.
- Employee Campaigns (Global Impact):
- Coordinate all requests for employee campaign fair attendance with major donors outside of Global Impact;
- Attend Global Impact campaign briefings;
- Coordinate attendance to Global Impact employee fair campaigns and speaking engagements as one of their member charities.
- Administrative Initiatives:
- Work with the VP and Director on New Business Development as needed, e.g., arrange meetings and prepare meeting materials;
- Coordinate information from the entire IR team that needs to be reported;
- Coordinate internal and external meetings;
- Process expense and purchase authorization reports;
- Act as liaison between IR and other departments; within Development to gather and disseminate information;
- Coordinate mailings whenever necessary;
- Work with the entire IR team to ensure that the PIDI database is maintained properly:
- PIDI Management
- Run regular reports to ensure the appropriate corporate and foundation records are flagged properly for Institutional Relations with the IR flag;
- Identify and inform the IR team of records that may not be properly assigned;
- Run regular reports for each officer and coordinate that the report matches their portfolio and probability charts;
- Maintain assigned records on a regular basis and update data as necessary.
- Reporting:
- Collaborate with Senior Associate for the Major Gifts team to help develop a cohesive database and reporting system;
- Assist with the preparation of any necessary documents or presentations for board meetings or other departmental meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 - 4 years work experience either in sales, marketing, business development environment, or experience in a nonprofit working in either development or fundraising;
- Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience;
- Grant writing experience a plus, but not required;
- Excellent writing and speaking skills with very strong attention to detail;
- Database experience/reporting required and must have proficiency with (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- The ability to work with and appreciate different work styles;
- Good judgment and discretion;
- The ability to work independently;

- High energy.
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
